the house of Yin Yu Tang

Posted by admin on Dec 24 2004 | Uncategorized

In Salem Mass, hidden between Witch museums, and Wicked bars, you’ll find the Peabody Essex Museum home of the Yin Yu Tang house. Reassembled after being transported all the way from China, it originally stood for almost two centuries in a small town of the Souther Anhui province called Huang Cun. This site is all flash, and is really beautifully done. I especially like the flythrough, though being flash, I can’t link directly to it. Enjoy!

Bogotan mimes control traffic

Posted by admin on Dec 24 2004 | Uncategorized

Bogota, capital of Colombia I imagine is a lot like New York’s five points, back in the day. Gangs of children, dangerous traffic, gangs and corruption. A new Mayor has a plan to change all that, using of all things mimes on street corners. That’s right, circus guys who don’t talk…

cali wifi surfing

Posted by admin on Dec 07 2004 | Uncategorized

Out here in California for a week, I’ve been to a bazillion cafes. Most of them have wireless internet. I was down in Santa Cruz, and a friend’s network had the password 13131313131313131313131313. I don’t know if that’s 13 times the bad luck or what. Here in San Francisco I made my way to Golden Gate Perk where the password was 0a f6 01 6f 82 96 56 75 02 94 d4 e8 4e. Now that is SERIOUS security. They change the password every few ticks of the atomic clock! Don’t try breaking into that wifi network. Anyway, if you’re looking for wifi in SF, check out Cheese Bikini.

Invisible cowgirl’s world of happy porn

Posted by admin on Dec 07 2004 | Uncategorized

I was first exposed… from her weblog Reverse Cowgirl. I then picked up a copy of her You’re a Bad Man, Aren’t You?. Though she is Invisible now, she’s writing again, blogging a book called Porn Happy. Her writing covers the surreal end of human relations, and you will surely find it challenging, and Catherine M shocking, but stimulating, and endlessly yet strangely seductive.

lefties, language, and a million years

Posted by admin on Dec 07 2004 | Uncategorized

Some have theorized that right-handedness evolved with the development of language, which is centered in the left hemisphere of the brain. Now it seems that left-handedness may have been around for five million years, and obviously remains to this day. This speaks to the conspiracy that instruments, such as guitar, are made with the complex and intricate movements on the left, because musical instruments were historically invented by lefties!
